Facilities
We welcome wheelchair users and people with disabilities and have tried to make Stable & Coachmans cottages as wheelchair friendly as possible. We have a good range of brochures and information on facilities for wheelchairs at places to visit and tourist attractions in the area.
We have had solo wheelchair users who have managed very well but it is probably easier if a helper/carer comes too.
Both cottages have a similar layout with kitchen/ diner /living room all in one and a specially adapted shower room. There are:
- Level floors throughout & ramped entrances
- Doors all 30"(75cm) wide except 2 marked x on floor plan
- Wheelchair turning circle beside beds
- Shower rooms have wheel-in shower
- Fixed or portable shower seat
- Vertical & horizontal rails beside shower & toilet
- Drop down rail between shower & toilet for use with both
- Raised toilet seat & commode available. Toilet seat 17" (43 cm) from floor
- Bed blocks available
- Light switches and sockets at wheelchair user height
- Level access from covered parking 37yds (35m) away
- Games & craft rooms both wheelchair accessible
- Bedlinen, duvets (or sheets & blankets on request) included
