The Farm |
|
Our arable farm is run as a family partnership and all the machinery and grain storage is based at the other farm but you will see wheat, barley, sugar beet and oilseed rape growing in the surrounding fields. The busiest time on the farm starts in July when harvest begins and you will see combine harvesters hard at work followed by autumn cultivations and ploughing. Then the cycle begins again with winter wheat being drilled (sown) in September. We have a colour coded map of the crops showing the waymarked footpaths you can follow. If you go down Lower Barn road you can admire the dog roses in the hedges, see many forms of wildlife and maybe disturb deer before crossing the stream at the bottom of the valley and wandering through the water meadows |
